2000 Toyota Sienna. Customer has van hauled in with inoperative ignition cylinder and new Import Direct cylinder with keys. I drilled out bad cylinder and installed new one, no crank of course. Ive looked into how to reprogram immobilizer and cant find the same answer twice. Does anyone have any experience with these? Solus Ultra is no help. Techstream is a dead end but I have not used it much. I did find a document from Toyota that states an ECM has to be replaced? Any answers? Thanks.

If the old keys and cylinder were replaced due to a mechanical problem with the old key cylinder and not a pre existing anti theft or immobilizer problem, hope you still have the old immobilizer keys. Maybe check and see if the new keys are indeed the proper chip keys and maybe Cloneable to the old keys by a lock smith. Haven't tried a port freight 08 on a Toyota , but I was able to add a key to a Acura before. -
Did you get this figured out yet ? Seems unlikely you would have to replace an ECM because you lost your keys ? Maybe a Techstream function ?Comment

Seemed drastic to me as well. Talked to a wreck rebuilder that said when he gets one with no keys he changes out the ignition and theft module from a salvaged vehicle and all is well, so I guess there's something to it. So I went in before dawn this morning to get some alone time with this one and it turns out it don't even have the immobilizer, it was an aftermarket security deal. Five minutes with a pair of wire cutters and everybody is happy before breakfast. Had some free time so I replaced a leaking steering rack on a ford edge before time to open!Comment
