i have a chance to purchase a verus gen 1 that is at 13.2 no euro that looks perfect condition for 800.00
what are your thoughts on this verus?
can i update it online ?
if so how?

I've got a Gen 1 Verus that I have a wireless module for. I like the screen on it better than the new ones. You can fit more PIDS on screen. I like mine, but I'd like it less if I was still fooling around with the personality keys. It's silly, but I'm glad to be away from them.
You'll need to see your dealer for an update, or purchase one online. The only updates available online are software patches, not full updates.

As far as the price, I'm not good at that. I'm sure someone else will chime in on that.

Sounds priced a little too cheap to not have any preexisting issues other than normal 5 minute boot up wait that any Y2k era laptop requires before they are ready to use.
Caution buying any old PC that old untested sold as is off E-bay requiring shipping or by a pawn shop.
Buying it from a coworker that will let you try it out and use it for a few days to make up your mind, that's another story.
