    Shopkey WTF

I have been using OD5 for a long time. I own a dvd version that is good thru 2007. That is pretty out of date so I have been filling in with Identifix which is not bad for what it is but I need a full info system. since I own a Verus I figured I would go with shopkey/OD5 because of the nice integration. I canceled my Identifix which was easier than I thought and I went to http://www.shopkeypronow.com/order/
and order a subscription to Shopkey5. Now if you read the site it says "Average time from purchase to product activation is just 5-10 minutes! Order Now!" now I get the conformation email of my order showing the charge to my card and the screen says you we be sent a separate email with access id & password in 5 to 10 min. if you don't receive your email call this 800 number. I wait 45 min. nothing so I call and get a quick response of " well it's not instantaneous you know" I say well just doing as I was told by your website. she informs me that she does not know why that it would say that because it takes 24-48 hrs to process. I wait 2 days still no email so I call again. This time i get a quick response of well it takes at least 72hrs for it too process. so 72 hrs later still no email, no access to info. I guess i should have gone with ALLDATA. I do a lot of business with Snap On I would think that you would issue the user id & password and if things didn't "check out" (the reason it takes so long so they told me on the phone) you could dump the id later instead of leaving me hanging with out repair info.

sorry just venting but if this doesn't get fixed soon I don't care what that 1 year commitment said I wont pay and I will go with ALLDATA. really the only part that makes me angry is the fact that it said 5 to 10 min. had it said 72 hrs i would have been fine I just don't understand in this day of fast computers how hard this could be to do.

    thanks for listening
    Tom

Call your Snapon Rep and have him have his DSD call you to help you sort this out.

We got set up with a temporary account by the rep who came to the shop.

But I can say this, we are having one hell of a time getting our access to Shopkey Pro.

so it's not just me! my dealer is on vacation so I have to wait or deal with the Idiots who answer the phone when you call the number that the website gives you. maybe if I dig thru my business cards I can find the tech rep for my area.

                on demand 5

shop key costs more then going directly to mitchelle. order from them and it is instant and can hook to the scanners wifi. you can even get free trial and cheaper monthly rate if you tell them you are coming from identifix. google on demand 5 for the 800 number.

I finally got my ShopkeyPro up and running on Friday. We got on the phone with our 6th representative last week who told us the reason we never got our start-up e-mail was because we were never set up. So in the previous 5 attempts to get set up not one of the reps actually set us up. Finally Robin set it up, we received our e-mail and got fired up.

Seriously? We never got set up in all the calls we made?

                  Kick @ss CS!!!

Anyways, the GUI is odd on the Pro, but after playing with it a bit I like it better. Decent hyperlinks exist where base Shopkey had none. But the layout seems odd to me.

i agree with you on the layout, and sadly you will find holes in the info concerning with european vehicles, in my opinion you would have been happier with Alldata in the long run.....
