No one likes to have to work on a hot engine
But I absolutely hate trying to remove spark plug wire boots off plugs on a cold engine, even though you aren't supposed to change the plugs until the engine is cooled down , especially on something with aluminum heads.
I knew I wanted to change the spark plug cables because my Counselor 2 showed higher than normal KV on a couple cylinders and the 2000 Impala with 145K had original cables. I should know better and have twisted and pulled the spark plug wires off while the engine was still hot last night because I forgot what a b@tch the wire boots are to get off cold especially with them metal heat shields on the boots. My left hand is recovering from my dog's bite so it's not Gravy Train work like a tune up should be
