    MT 2500

Hello everyone, I discovered this blessed help forum by reading various posts from users scattered on the internet who own a YJ Wrangler like mine. I come to the problem I bought a Snap On MT 2500 for rare diagnoses on my Wrangler yj 2500 that you call renix, now reading here I discovered that I could buy a Solus that replicates MT 2500, I ask which cartridges do I need to diagnose my Jeep Wrangler YJ 1988 with MT 2500, and if I had to buy a Solus how can I replicate the MT 2500 programs. Sorry I don't speak English and I use google translate

If you stick with the MT2500, use a Primary Cartridge that is at least 1990 or newer. Troubleshooter cartridge is not critical, but getting one at least that new would be helpful on that Renix System.

Any Solus scanner, regardless of type (Solus, Solus Pro, Solus Ultra, Solus Edge or Solus Legend) will work just fine on that system. You'll need an adapter to connect the scanner if it doesn't come with it though. Not all of them did.

No need to apologize for your English. It's just fine.

Thanks Joe Rappa, you've been a great help to me and I'd like to take the opportunity to ask you two more questions: The primary cartridge must say Jeep or it's enough that it says Chrysler. I see a lot of primary cartridges for 1996-2000 year, will these still fit my 1988 year jeep?

Those Domestic Primary Cartridges, like in your picture, work best. So if you're finding a bunch of those, get one. They also cover all US Domestic cars, including Jeep, in one cartridge.

Now, be careful if you're looking for those on E-Bay. There are a bunch of sellers that show that cartridge, but they're really only OBD2 Generic coverage. Make sure you're getting a genuine cartridge that provides Manufacturer Specific coverage.
