    advice if you would, new to graphing..

    right job this afternoon, ford galaxy 1.9 TDi

    customer says, all power is lost now and again and will not rev over 3000rpm

    plugged my solus pro in , give me the fault code ( p1557 turbo pressure controll limit exeeded )

    so i done some graphing took it for a drive and i had 2 graphs..

    GRAPH 1 DESIRED BOOST PRESSURE 1000 BAR

    GRAPH 2 ACTUAL BOOST PRESSURE 2450 BAR

    THIS WAS AT TICKOVER AS WELL

    ??

    ANY ONE KNOW IF THIS WOULD BE A DEFECTIVE BOOST CONTROL VALVE?

        I don't know anything about that car, but on every other PID I've looked at, actual follows desired.

          Unless there is a trouble code set...then it doesn't always follow those rules.

            I would try to verify that the pressure shown is actual then I would look at what controls the waste gate, vacuum or pressure or electric control switches then next the linkages to the waste gate make sure it's not stuck shut or something. Looks like you got lot's of fun stuff to work on over on the other side of the pond.

              according to the wastegate graph on the bottom right thats working as it should. or isint it ?

                arrgg things r getting tense now, ha

                put a new boost controll regulator on and its still the same, any one any idears ?

                  Hi,

                  One should never change any parts until completely satified that the part under consideration to be changed has been proven to be faulty?

                  As you have not given specific information, i.e. engine code, year of manufacturer etc, the information here is general;

                  Check;

                  Hose connections, have they been interchanged, are they connected?

                  TC Charger boost pressure sensor, is it functioning correctly?

                  TC Wastegate regulator valve, have you checked the operation of it?

                  TC Wastegate regulator valve operation/test;

                  NOTE;

                  The control relay must be fitted and working correctly.

                  Terminal 1 and earth, check for supply voltage with ignition on, should be;

                  11 - 14V

                    Paul Don't know this vehicle,but resolved this code on 2000 VW Jetta
                    with restricted Egr (throttle control valve /Egr Unit) and restricted Intake manifold (carboned Up).The motor was a 1.9 Turbocharged Diesel.Almost lead myself down the garden path by over thinking.
