I just purchased solus pro from a local sales rep. I knew the 7.4 update was coming out so I told him I wanted the updated machine. I waited 5 weeks to get it. he told me it was taking so long because the update just came out. so I open the shipping box snap on sent him and the machine has 7.3 software on it. the weird thing is that the troubleshooter dvd in the box says 7.4 equipped on the cover???? I just got the scanner nov 16th. so what do I do now??? the sales rep says he doesnt know anything and doesnt act like its no big deal. I just paid for this scanner and I'm afraid I wont be able to get 7.4 unless I pay another $1000 for the update 2-3 wks after I paid for the scanner. the 7.4 has updated asian software I need for my own car. has anyone had problems like this?? does anyone have 7.4 for solus pro yet??

Solus PRO was released with the 7.3 software bundle, because it was released before 7.4 had been completed and tested. The purchase of the Solus PRO does entitle you to a free 8.2 upgrade when that is release.
The disks are another matter. They were produced prior to the final release of the 7.4 software so, the 7.4 troubleshooter disks shipped with the the Solus PRO There is no and never will be a 7.4 software release for the Solus PRO. The next release for Solus PRO will be 8.2._______________________

thanks for the info guys. still not too happy. I spent the money and now every other snap on scanner can do what I need except mine. I have 05 subaru sti and when I connect the features of the scanner are very limited (no troubleshooter, not much data to view). I was thinking 7.4 has an asian update that might give me more data for my car. from what I read 8.2 free update wont give solus pro the same features as 7.4 for the other scanners, is that correct? I still feel like the brand new scanner I bought is already outdated and I'll have to buy the next update to be able to use all the functions on my 05.Comment

The 8.2 release will include everything that came with the 7.4 release. Releases are accumulative, so there is just more stacked upon the base. Of course there are some improvements done to the base as time goes by, but that is also incorporated in the update.

New Software is always released the first week of the Second and Fourth Quarters. So, 8.2 is scheduled to be released April 1st. You've only got 90 days to wait.

Solus Pro 7.4?
Don't feel bad, the same thing just happened to me. I bought mine to work on my familes vehiches from an industrial salesman at work. Told him I had an '06 Tundra. He assured me that the Solus Pro would have the software to cover it. It was shipped to work and it had 7.3 loaded on it. I told him that either I get an 8.2 upgrade or it's going back. Called Snap-On and told them what happened and the girl said that if he can't resolve the issue, that she will go higher up!! Bill

off topic kinda, but fwiw i was working on the 05 wrx i'll be racing this year and was able to read actual ECU values as opposed to what the UTEC was telling the ecu, kinda helpful for troubleshooting tune issues.....btw i had no probs....you should be able to enter into it via 04 without any issues, the software didn't make any dramatic changes from the 04 wrx and 05 wrx that i work on regularly, IIRC i was able to get into the 06 we play around with before he put the hydra in, throttle position didn't read right but other than that i dont recall any issues...with a 7.3 solus proInfil
