    solus or solus pro

I have a solus 7.2 and want to know if I should update to 7.4 or trade in for solus pro 7.3. My concern is euro on solus pro does not work per posts on IATN. I also have vantage pro 7.4

The solus and solus pro are virtually the same machine except the pro has a battery and the buttons have been upgraded. The software is the same and the functions are the same. I traded in my solus for the pro and like it very much but again, they are the same. I have the euro on the pro and I haven't been able to communicate with any of the euro cars I've tried so far. BTW, you will be asked to pay an extra $50 to get euro reflashed on to the pro. My dealer picked that up for me along with the extra money they wanted for the OBD1 cables ($96). The pro will only come with 7.3 software but you will get 8.2 free when it is released. Will that solve the euro problem? I don't know but I can assure you that if it dosen't, I will start complaining to my dealer. So, if you want to upgrade to the pro, go for it. It is a nice machine but really not much different from what you've already have. You can save money by just updating what you have and maybe euro will continue to work for you. Your call. HTH, Don

      Hi dbarnes.

Can you possibly be more specific with the Euro problem so I can report it and have it investigated after the holiday's. Year, Make, Model, will give us something to go on when the Applications team looks into it. You can PM me the info if you would like or respond here. Either way works for me.

      Thanks

EBI webmaster, sorry it took so long to get back to you! I had a 2000 MB CL430 that I had no comm with the ecm or the IP. I could comm with the trans and of course, generic OBD2. I was asked to use key s17 for ecm and trans. Iwas asked to use key s4 for the IP. The other time I had a comm problem, it was on a VW. I don't remember the year and key s7 was requested. I have since been able to comm with VW's. Different cars and years tho. I hope this info will help you investigate this problem. Don

            solus pro euro

i have the solus pro with the euro software. i have been having problems with no communication and/or error codes. see my other post. i have found that in some vehicles if you go into market selection(usa) then go into vehicle selection USA then proceed everything works ok. No problems with the vw/audi area. i use the expert mode, as i work for an vw/audi dealer. be careful in this mode!!!! if you do not know what mvb (measuring values blocks) you are looking at or hit the wrong button to code adapt or perform basic settings you can wipe out the ecm of whatever area you are in. suggestion before you do any of this write down the ecm coding #. if incorrectly coded you will have codes in all systems and no communication until recoded adapted and basic settings are done. i hope this helps you out. i have been playig phone tag with snap on cs after my post about my problem. when iget more info from them i will post for all. no communication an error occured RETURN CODE 1(0*1) [76] thanks...
