    Suzuki Grand Vitara Vs Ethos..

Hi all, I have an Australian spec '99 Suzuki Grand Vitara with the 2.5l v6 H25A engine.

I purchased an Ethos, running v9.4, from my local Snappy rep to read live data from this vehicle but it doesn't list my vehicle as having a 16 pin diagnostic connector, only manual flash codes available. There is a 16 diagnostic connector under the dash.

I have been told by tech support that my particular model suzuki does not have live data capabilitys, so I took it to a friend who plugged in his Gscan and proceeded to show live data from all of the sensors, plus he could control the idle up and egr valves from his Gscan.

So my ecm does support live data but my Ethos wont connect to it. I searched on the forum and there was talk about using Chevy Tracker to access the Suzuki, this uses the obd2 adapter and k12a key. I have tried this but still wont connect.
I have also tried different year models of suzuki using the standard cable but no success.

Does anyone have any suggestions? or have i purchased a $2500 paperweight?

    Thanks,
    Craig.

The only way to get anything out of the Ethos for info on Suzuki is Global OBD2 for Generic codes and data only. Suzuki is not supported yet by the OE side. You should be able to hook up and go in Global and get the info you are aquiring about.

Thanks for the reply, tried selecting OBD/OBD2. Hooked up to vehicle and keyed on, still would not connect, just kept saying no communications, is vehicle on?

When the Ethos is plugged in, it receives power from the car, but no comms.

The Ethos requests the 98L cable to go through OBD2, i thought it would have used the OBD2 adapter?
