ECM/ECU/PCM Flash 2001 Toyota ECHO

Hey guys, me again, just want to ask if anybody has flashed this car or a Toyota with the PTPII(PassThru Pro II)?
If so, will I need to get keys after I flash this? Key Codes or Immobilizer/Smart Key Reset Program?
If anybody has done this and has experiences with the PTPII and Toyota, please let me know. I'm going to check to see if ToolBox 2 has any extra options regarding keys, etc. I just wanna know if I don't have to program a key after I flash since I've never done a Toyota.
Also, I've read somewhere about a CD to help you flash??? Any input would be appreciated. Regards, Chavez.

No, a reflash will not wipe out the immobilizer information on a Toyota. BTW, the 01 Echo is not equipped with an immobilizer system.

Up to a few years ago, Toyota was sending out CD's with calibration files. If you can get your hands on one of those, the calibrations are still valid. These days, Toyota sells the calibration information online. A subscription to Toyota TIS is required. Download and install Techstream lite. Look up TSB T-SB-0064-10 in your information system, it gives instructions on how to determine if a reflash is available, how to obtain the calibration file and how to install it.

Orevin, if u have a second, I forgot to write that I'm swapping the ECM with a junkyard one since the one in the car doesn't function properly. So not to confuse myself, does the method you describe flash the ECM? Will it write the VIN as well? I know that update and flashing usually means the same, I just want to get a good idea of what I will be doing. Thank you for your time and help. Appreciate it a lot. Regards, Chavez.

Should be plug and play then, no reflash necessary. On later Toyota you would have register the VIN, but not on this one.
