2007 Dodge Charger Key programming question

Hey everyone, I recently purchased the Pass thru pro 2 device from my dealer about a month ago and have had the chance to use it on my 2002 Mustang GT to reflash it back to factory settings (came with aftermarket program tune and no tool to set it back to factory) and I also lost an ignition key. I flashed the Ford back to factory and programmed the additional key with very little difficulty.

I was asked today about programming a couple of keys for a 2007 Dodge Charger for a guy and am not sure what I will have to do with this. He had only 1 key when he bought the car and he lost his key after work one night and now needs 2 new keys programmed.

How difficult is this to do for a Dodge?
Will the Pass thru pro program the Dodge keys?

I already called the Techauthority customer service hotline and they had no clue what I was even talking about. Thanks in advance for the help on this one.

I'm interested in this too since I haven't done this. I know you can reset the SKIM with the PTPII if you ever change the PCM or disconnect the SKIM before flashing or replacing the PCM like other people have recommended. I've never run into this problem yet, so I'm looking over this thread as well. I do know for a fact that if you change the KER(Keyless Entry Receiver) you need a DBRIII, the keys work, but the remote will not(After resetting the SKIM). Unless someone can prove me wrong, which would be awesome. Regards, Chavez.

Chrysler's J2534 software does not allow you to enter a SKIM code, just reprogramming of PCM and TCM. It won't do remotes either. You would need another capable scan tool for the immobilizer, plus the code.

Yes, the OE tool will do it, of course. Maybe there are aftermarket tools as well, but I can't name one. If you have a locksmith working for you, he might be able to help you out.

I use the Star Mobile for this and the procedure is actually very simple. You can only program 1 key if you like, it's not necessary to have 2 keys like Ford requires.

I think if you use J2534 Toolbox2 that cardaq uses, You are able to program vin and reset skim. However , this does not program keys, it lets the PCM start and run without security software. It will set a code P0560 "I THINK" that's the code, but it doesn't turn any check engine light on either. You can use 2 -3 -4 keys with this and don't have to program skim. LIke I said, if you pull codes out of PCM, you will find a code, but no check engine light. I have used this a couple of times and you can even use junk yard pcm's and program a VIN number and reset skim.

ok ( SKIM RESET ) function we used when is replace PCM from raking yard when the old PCM is install on the vehicle the PCM have another VIN # SO we used skim reset and passthru 2 clean the old VIN #3249305TK9395M5 for like this VIN. FFFFFFFFFFFFFFF so now you can rewrite new VIN # that's all.

Used SKIM RESET just if you don't want to do FLASH to PCM and l recommend synchronize the miles the vehicle to the pcm whit the function ( RESET SRI )
