I have a 2011 Mustang GT from a body shop that replaced Restaints Control Module and now needs initialized. Is it possible to use a J2534 programmer and Ford website to initialize module? I hate to spend $30 and find out we can only do PCM, and not Restraints Module. Code it shows is U2100, for initial configuration not completed. Well I am answering my own question. I spent the money and went to ford oem site. I didn't have old module , but I was able to download "as built "data. You can perform module installation of a bunch of modules and restraints is one of them. After PMI, all okay. I don't think you can reprogram RCM, but I was able to perform module setup off of ford website and use J2534 programmer

This RCM module must be set up with Dealer level IDS and VCM using as built or inhale data from the old module, at this time FORD has not released this to the FMP thru J2534I have a 2011 Mustang GT from a body shop that replaced Restaints Control Module and now needs initialized. I was able to set up this module with J2534 and FMP. New module had been installed and I downloaded "as built" data. After J2534 ID'd vehicle and correct vin, It let me choose programmable module install option. It then said I had no valid data stored and then let me choose to enter "AS BUILT" data. It gave me line for line and correct options to choose. I think it was line code 753 for rcm module. There were 5 lines of numbers to get correct. Then turn key on and off 3 times and was done. It worked perfectly and had no codes and all ok on restart. I actually used my VCI J2534. ON FMP webpage, I chose to get AS BUILT data and print this off. There were 4 pages of data and different line codes. Correct line codes were displayed. I think we have to use module install option, because module programming was not a option that I saw for RCM.Comment
