Pass thru pro 2 error message

Traded in in my old verus and es6510 vetronix programmer for a wireless verus and got pass thru pro at the same time. Got it today and its past time I can get support help. I am trying it out at home on a 2002 town & country and a 1998 jeep cherokee. I get a error message protocol 2 on both vehicles, can't even communicate. I probably don't have something configured right. I need it to work fairly quick in the Am. I just traded in a setup that worked 80% of the time, hoping to get that percentage up. Any quick help from anyone would be appreciated, otherwise I will contact support in the AM.

    Hi Dwayne
The units do not have to be paired together as the Pass-thru-Pro is not wireless, it is hooked to the Verus with a USB cable, did you load the Toolbox2 and use the Tool checker to see if the was comm between the Pass device and the Verus, also did you check the website or Toolbox2 for the latest software and firmware?

I would hook it up to a laptop with more RAM. I had heard that Chrysler needs at least 1GB of RAM. I use my laptop with no issues. I just graduated to a CardaqM from the old Cardaq Plus (Snappy's passthru proII). A worthwhile change IMO.

        Thanks

Sure enough loaded the tool on my laptop and it worked 1st time. Kinda messed up though, I bought the new verus because of the updated processor and more ram so I could use it with the programmer and eliminate the need for my laptop. I will do some more checking I still think it should work the new verus has almost a gig of ram a 1.6 gig processor. I probably don't have something configured right. Thanks for the help and advice.

I understand why you wanted to use the Verus for this but "I" really hate tying up a scan tool for reflashing. Chrysler has posted on their site the minium requirements for running their programs, I always try and go more then the minium requirments. Glad to hear you got the program to work, get a laptop and use it just for flashing. Let us know if you run into any other problems.

Yes, I have the new Verus and it has 1GB of RAM, but I always like to exceed the minimum requirement just to be on the safe side. I have also heard that newer Chryslers need more than a gig of RAM. Like Steve, I prefer to use my laptop to flash so my scanner is always available when I need it. Too much work, too little time.

I was wondering how this system works. How do you get the software for the modulemso you can program it with the pass thru

You need to go to the manufacturers website, pay their fee for the program and/or the flash files.
Some vehicles are much easier then others, this has a VERY BIG learning curve. Here is a link to a lot of the sites.

                  Try this!

                  Solution:
Before you begin, make sure that you PC have following requirements:
                  1) Turned off antivirus
                  2) Turned of Firewall
                  3) And last and most important! Check the latest version of Java on www.Java.com

I have Java 6 Update 21. After update to version 7 update 9 ECM was successfully programmed.
If you want to donate me, ask how!
