j2534 tool box not working with Win8.1

We just purchased a new Snap-On Pass-Thru Pro II and installed the software on a new Toshiba laptop with Windows 8.1 64bit - after the installation of the software, the Toolbox 2 program will NOT run... even when plugging the pass-thru pro II to a vehicle, it doesn't do anything....

everything works with our Verus Pro, but will NOT run the software on the laptop...

is this software only meant to run on a Windows XP 32bit machines??

thanks in advance for your replies!

I use it with win7 no problem, go to drew tech's site and DL toolbox3. See if that helps, may have to run it in compatibility mode.

I would say its because you are running Windows 8. I don't see very many Automotive tools that will run on this yet. Maybe you could UPGRADE to Windows 7, I know its me but I hate Windows 8. Give tech support a call to make sure 1-800-424-7226

Installed Windows 7 SP1 64bit on the Toshiba Laptop and the J2534 Toolbox 2 from Snap-On worked perfectly... must not be compatible with Windows 8.1 but that's expected, its not a very PC friendly OS...
