Can Bus Scope Pattern

Hi there when you scope the can bus from the DL16 should the pattern be constant, i think i have a can fault the pattern is realy good then it disapears for a few seconds & comes backs & keeps doing it, i think it should be constant data down the line

Hi yer iv got a problem with the cruise control on 2004 vectra C, 1.8 Petrol, all the faults are relating to CAN bus no coms with dash & engine ECU, i scoped the CAN BUS to see if it was live & found the pattern in good but it keeps going and coming back rather than what i thought should be a constant data patern, i have traced the fault to CIM's unit behind the sttering wheel but just wandered if i was right about the scope pattern

I have found the CAN Bus bit in Vantage Pro Component Test pretty useless.

I have got a green CAN Bus book here in the UK from Technical Topics www.techtopics.co.uk

I also went on a Saturday CAN Bus training course where the guy used a Modis during the course and a Vectra with CAN Faults.
