VW Expert Mode

Is anybody having problems reading engine measuring blocks in expert mode on a CAN equipped vehicle? Either no data is shown or the machine just errors out and requires a restart. Running 15.4 but have had this problem before 15.2. Tech support says expert mode will only work on 2005 and older, however I am able to do Basic Settings in expert mode on CAN cars. Doesn't make sense...... Ideas?

Does anything in Farfignueggen format on a Teutonic Turd make sense to an untrained GM Turd flipper's eyes? Even resetting a maintainance required light is a PITA, but you feel like you're an expert after doing it.
