Testing for AC ripple on Modis Elite scope question

I was just perusing AESWave.com & I came across the item linked below. It's designed to filter out the DC on your scope, so you can check for AC ripple [shorted rectifier diodes]

I'm wondering if this is an item worth purchasing? Or can the scope on my Modis Elite filter the DC out by itself?

Perspiring minds want to know.

You can set the scope up to ignore the DC component of any signal. just set it to AC Voltage. Don't forget to turn it back, of the next time you go to use it you'll wonder why it won't read steady voltage, or why all your square waves are tilted on top and bottom.

I think that all the Snap On scopes have an AC coupling feature (setting) built in.
