    Noisy modis fan?

    My fan started to squeal recently- anybody replace one of these bofore?

    Mine is loud too when I am charging my battery. But it runs at normal speed when i'm using it.

      So, are you just living with it? Have you looked into replacing it?

        I know this thread is old but I thought this info could be useful to others. I just picked up a Gen 2 Modis Elite, that the previous owner had broken the fan. When I say broken I mean no blades left on it. I opened up the case and found the fan is made by Sunon part number gm0502pfv1-8. I googled that number and found that it isn't readily available but digikey had a substitute fan with the same dimensions so I ordered it. The new fan is Sunon Fans MC25100V1-000U-A99 and costs about $10 from digikey.

            New fan came in. Dimensions and specs are identical to the original. It came with two bare wires, so a quick splice and she is up and running like a champ.
