i have been told the modis will program ford keys but i dont see anywhere in the PATS section to do so. any ideas? thanks in advance. justin

Ford's IDS software is required to program keys.
I'm not sure but, I don't believe Snapon's Pass Thru Pro will program keys. The Modis will not. -
Not sure if Modis will program keys for Ford I use the IDS or NGS, I notice you own the IDS and PDS (top right of you post), why not just use one of them to do it. You stated that you could not find it in the PATS module, don't forget the PATS function is not always in the PATS module you have to go to the correct module to program the keys. The control function could be in any module, HEC ICM PCM SCIL VIC. I have inclued a link below that is a pdf doc ( I could not attach it the file was too big), it's a chart that tells you which module the PATS control function is in ( that's the module you need to be in to program the keys), tells you how many keys you need etc.

yes key programming is very simple with the ids or pds, but sometimes we have to share scan tools and the security timeout for pats is ten minutes. so if someone else has the ids or pds you are stuck watching the clock for the ten minute timeout plus waiting for the guy next to you to get done with the scanner. i just like to know how to do everything my scan tools are capable of anyway because you never know when you may need it.Comment

about the pass thru pro, that reminds me, i double checked the motorcraft website and you can program the keys with the pass thru pro and subsciption of course, it shows $26.95 for short term sub. we charge $95 for a key and program, its an easy money maker if you have the equipment.Comment
