    2008 Jeep Patriot

Does the Modis with 8.4 software have coverage for the 2007-2008 Jeep Patriot. I was trying to access the Pcm on an 08 today and could only read codes. I went into the OBD II generic software and could read some data. I received a module not supported message.

The reason for the question is that I know there is always a possibility of a software issue.

    Thanks

    Earl

8.4 should cover that vehicle. Did you use a K-25 key?

      Hi Skip,

Yes I did use the K-25 key and could not access even when I entered as a 2007 model Patriot. I still have the vehicle and will try again tommorrow and post my result.

      Thanks,
      Earl

        Skip,

I will try another Patriot with the same equipment as well just to see if there is some problem with communication on this particular vehicle.

          Earl,
I think I have an answer for you. GPEC controllers can be updated past the model year of the vehicle. This means that if the ECU is an 09, and the car is an 08, and the 09 ECU program is new enough that we did not put it into the last update, it will default to a "codes only" screen. This happened between 07 and 08. I need to know 2 things if you can so I can give the info to the engineer who writes the communication software.

1- What version software are you running in your Modis? You asked if 8.4 should com but I don't know if that is because you have 8.4 or are thinking about buying it.

2- When the screen comes up that says " system version not found" the tool should give the version number of the ECU it did find. If you get me that number it would help. Chrysler created a new version and did not tell us last time. With all the problems they have right now, I can see SnapOn not being a priority for them.

So the short answer to your question about comming with an 08 Patriot is maybe
