I wasted a lot of time today on a 2000 dodge truck with an ABS light on and a check eng. light. I could not communicate with the ABS module, the ECM had a po500 vss code. So I checked the vss in the trans it seemed to be working but I changed it anyway. Same problem. I couldn't find out why my scanner wouldn't communicate with the ABS. I had another dodge truck a 98 so I took the ABS module from that and tried it in the 2000, still the same problem
So I put everything back and tried my solus pro on the 98 I couldn't communicate with that one too
I tried an OTC genesis 2.0 on it and it gets in to the ABS and tells me I have a code for the ABS sensor in the diff. I change the sensor in the diff. clear the code all lights go out and everything is fine. I can't believe my solus pro that cost over $3000 dollars can not get in to a 98 or 2000 dodge ABS system
I'm not happy at all, if I had used the genesis first I would have had the truck done in 45 minutes and out the door
I'm thinking about getting rid of my solus pro and getting a genesis, at lest the genesis can get ABS codes from a dodge !!!!

. You will not be able to communicate with some GM ABS also the patch was free before 8.4 I don't know if you will need to buy 8.4 or you can just get the patch.
