Reading timing on diesel trucks with Solus

Hello, I run a diesel performance business and just bought a used Solus scanner. I was trying to read timing while the engine was running on a 2000 Dodge truck with a Cummins in it. I could go to the Data screen and see map sensor readings and such, just could not find timing. I need to update it, as I can only read to 2003, maybe the update will fix this timing issue? I got it to read timing on a gas Ford sport-track, just couldnt get it to work on the Cummins.

Sorry if this is a dumb question, this is my first scanner.

Also on a the newer common rail engines can I read injector flow, like you can with a DRB?

    Thanks, Bodie

Ok, just traded the Solus for a new Solus Pro. I will try with the new one now...

I guess it dosent because I cant find flow or timing with mine. Will the Modis or any of the others read timing and flow?

Scanner coverage is the same across all the Snap-on platforms. If you can't real fuel volume with a Solus, you can't read it with a Verus either. There is no difference capability-wise in any of their platforms.

If there is specific coverage that you need, and you know it's in the OEM tool, please take a minute to post it in the "What do I want in my Scan Tool" Forum. If you say why you need it, it allows the Engineers to know what/why it is needed, and they can get it added. Snap-on has been pretty good ab out this. If you look at the recent softwware releases, the new software features seem to be taken right off that Forum. Be patient though. It doesn't happen by the very next update.
