    MT2500 Cartridge questions???

What is the difference with the black cartridge gloabal and a normal domestic?

I see some black cartridge that say 1990-2008 and then it says
Domestic until 2003 and global until 2008? what is the difference from a global one versus the domestic? is there something that the global one will not be able to do that the domestic one can?

Also what is a round about cost to reprogram the black cartridge to the latest and greatest software.

Black cartridges could be programmed. The older red ones could not.

That means there is software coverage for US Domestic and Asian Software through 2003 Model Year(Engine, trans, abs, air bag etc....)
Global OBDII coverage is Codes and Data on engine only, but you know that.

Yes. OBDII coverage is only engine codes and data.

Also what is a round about cost to reprogram the black cartridge to the latest and greatest software.

They are obsolete and can no longer be programmed.

I don't know, but it was 2 or 3 years ago...and because there was no room left in the cartridges some old data had to be deleted to make room for the new stuff.

          Want my advice?

The MT2500 was/is a great scanner. If you have one and still use it, GREAT! If you buy one and are looking to update it, forget about it. It's just not worth it.

The MT also needs an adapter for CAN bus communication. None of the others do.
