Just purchased used Solus ??(slow) very slow

I just picked up a solus with 8.4 software and when connection to vehicle it was real slow every drop down box like domestic or asian... make ... etc was very slow .. much slower than my MT2500. is this correct? it was very slow with all selections and from one screen to another it had a longer delay than im used to with the MT2500. will a software update solve this or is this not normal for this unit, may be messed up??? Please any advice is appreciated especialy after just putting out 500 bucks for it.

one thing i need to add is the unit had been sitting for a few months and the batteries may have been low, but when connected to vehicle wouldn't it be powered by the vehicle battery?

Navigation on the Solus(not Solus-Pro) is much slower than the MT2500. The scanner communication rate is not. What you see may be normal...can't tell without looking at it).
Try deleting all the saved files from memory.
Reinstall the software.

see if it's any faster now.

Yes, you are running off the vehicle battery if you're plugged into the car.

it had a delayed action when scrolling through the menu, i hope it is at least as fast to manuver as the mt2500???
