GM - Trans - 6 spd Service Fast Learn?

Can anyone advise me if the Snap On's SW has the above mention function?
I've ben asked if the tool can perform.

Here is what Alldata says about it:

Service Fast Learn Adapts is a procedure for 6-speed automatic transmissions in which a series of tests are run to allow the transmission control module (TCM) to learn individual clutch characteristics. Once the clutch data is learned, Service Fast Learn Adapts translates it into the adaptive data cells, which the TCM uses for clutch control during shifts. The scan tool provides initiation of the Service Fast Learn Adapts procedure. This procedure is to be used following transmission repair.

The Service Fast Learn Adapts procedure must be performed when one of the following repairs have been made to the vehicle. Failure to perform the procedure after one of the following repairs may result in poor transmission performance, as well as transmission DTCs being set:

    Transmission internal service/overhaul
    Valve body repair or replacement
    Control solenoid valve assembly replacement
    TCM software/calibration update
Any service in response to a shift quality concern

    Thanks,

Yes the fast learn adapt process is in there under functional tests. I've replaced several mechatronic valve bodies on the 6L80s.

Thanks greasybob. I get asked in my classes all the time "Will my XXXX scantool do that"

Now, If I could find someone that can screen record the process and send me the AVI with permission to use it in class.

        Thanks again

            LOL,

Just since I do not own a Windows-based Snap-On scantool...I cannot perform the above. However, I still like to give my students the best possible information.

                  Hi Doug,
Any scanner newer than an MT2500 is capable of taking screen shots. They save them as .bmp or.jpg files. You can normally get this far without having a car plugged in. Any screens beyond this require communication with the PCM.

                    Joe,

Thanks for the captures...that's all I need. Can I show them to techs who may have questions?
