    NGS Handheld or Laptop Based?

am slowly working towards factory scanner based tools, such as the NGS and VAG-COM, a freind who owns a shop let me give a Vag-com laptop based scanner a go, I really liked and will most likely go that route, as far as the NGS what are your opinions on the handheld rather then laptop? laptops are a pain in the sunlight while driving. looking for more bi directional control

    thankd for any input

NGS is out dated, Fords new tool is the IDS which is Laptop based. MANY of the OE's are going to PC based tools. Also when picking an OE tool you need to consider what line of cars you work on most more then if they are PC based or handhelds.

I work on alot of Imports, does the IDS have good coverage on Mazda? I see one advertised on Ebay, supposed to have bi-directional control for Mazda and Ford, has Jag but no Bi control.
