    Torque sensor

I have a 2004 Malibu that I install a new torque sensor. It keeps failing the calibration. It also steers easier the right compared to the left.
    Any Idea's?

Is it setting any codes? Typically the entire PS unit is replaced, I can't say I've ever replace the input torque sensor alone before.

What I had to do was get the input and out put voltage the same or just closer than I had it. There is a lock pin that you pull out after you install the sensor so this is close enough for a calibration. If the input and output voltage are not close enough the computer will fail the calibration. I had to take it back out and with the car powered up and the scanner on, keep reinstalling the sensor till the voltage was close, Every time you pushed the sensor on it would move a little so the voltage was off(pin wasn't doing it job) I keep jogging the two parts to get the voltages right. Once the voltage's were close, calibration went fine.

I think 2.5 volts on both sides is perfect. This was an easy job if you know what your doing. I bet a 20 minute jog on this 2004 Malibu. If I do another one, this scanner will be on and the car will be powered up after airbag and wheel are unplugged and installing the new sensor to save the messing around like I did last time trying to get this the to calibrate.
