2007 Ford Transit - Crash Data Reset

Hello, I am new to this forum and hopefully someone will be able to point me in the right direction, I did a search and no results where found.

I have a 2007 Ford Transit, with a Air bag module code of crash data stored, but I can not seem to find the reset procedure.

Could some help guide me to the right location please?

    Many Thanks,

    Mark.

Most (All) Airbag controllers (I have seen) require replacement once crash data is stored.

It will have to be replaced or sent out to have the crash data removed. When you send them out it saves having to have it reprogrammed, if it's required at all.

I thought that about the crash data reset as I have seen this in the past, but it is listed as a special feature in the European software version 13.2...?

Airbag light reset should be resettable , but not archived Crash Data

I would think like odometer mileages on used cars , to protect the consumer's this is information that probably should be easily accessible and never resettable, and if the module is ever replaced , the scanner should identify the crash module as a replacement module and give a file ID of the old crash module data retrie ved that can be accessed, so the previous owner has to pay the Carbon tax for each time the car was at WOT for more than 30 seconds , and be available online for 7 years . All cars manufacturers should do away with engine oil dipsticks following BMW's example, because the oil level information should only be accessible by a trained BMW tech that knows his way around An Ultimate Driving Machine .

Witsend - I totally agree with you!

It's frustrating as its listed that it should be able to, but in fact it can't! It's (more) annoying that it says it can do it when in fact it can not - It shouldn't be on the spec sheet if it can not be done, hence it wouldn't be a problem and I wouldn't be here moaning!

I had a Galaxy in a previous life with a similar code and it had to be sent away to be reset.
