    MT2400 Vantage questions

Couple quick questions for you guys that have the original Vantage:
Can you use a low amp probe on it? (Just convert the amps to voltage)
Does the tool have capability to read AC Coupling for alternator testing?
Haven't spent too much time with this one yet, still learning its quirks

Yes. I've used a low amps probe with one many times.

I don't recall ever doing this one. I'd look in the meter setup to see if AC coupling is there. Maybe someone else will remember.

      Joe,

Ok I found the spot for the current testing with amp probe under vehicle tests, but I was unable to find AC coupling anywhere. Oh well, at least I can do current testing with this tool.

Its been several years since my Mt2400 died, but yes you absolutely can use a low amp probe on it. if I remember correctly AC coupling is not a function though. I also dont recall the Vanatage being TrueRMS, and I believe TrueRMS functionality and AC coupling go hand in hand.

AES did and maybe still does have a set of special leads available to allow ac coupling. I bought a set and they work well.

View alternator ripple and other signals on your Vantage PGM using the AES AC filter!
