    verdict

I'm thinking of changing my MODIS to a Verdict as my Snap-on
rep will give me a fairly decent trade in amount for my
    MODIS.

My MODIS is 2.5yrs old but well out of date. To bring my
MODIS upto date (i'm on 10.2) it would cost £850
subscripton in the UK or £1100 outright.

I'm thinking i could put that money towards the Verdict
instead but still not sure on how the Verdict has improved
    over the last 12months.

I like my MODIS but i now have the 4 channel Picoscope but
still want a more mobile oscilloscope for quick tests and i
believe the Verdict fits the bill.

I also like the idea of the split screen so you can view
live data and scope screen for direct relationship tests but
don't want to make the mistake if its still no use. Another
good feature (i think) is the fact the scope module is
bluetooth so the scope part can be left under the boonet and
the screen placed on the passenger seat whilst test drives
    are carried out.

Easier than routing wires from under the bonnet into the
cabin. A few questions to ask

Is the igniton feature now in place,

Can you connect the HT pickup to syncronise/trigger
    waveforms like with the MODIS

Does the pressure/vacuum transducers work in scope mode or
only with the component test meter feature

How reliable is the comms between the bluetooth devices.

12.4 is the software that will be included within the deal, not interested in the subscription offer in the UK as it works out quite expensive each year so i'll just run it for a couple of years then maybe update if i think its needed.

Have another diag tool which is more in depth which i keep updated.

Verdict does look good i must admit, fairly confident i'm going ahead with purchasing one.

        Hi Lee

If you update your scanner software by Direct Debit every month then it will cost you £640.00 plus VAT per year

That's £320.00 per update or £13.00 plus VAT per week. Think that's very reasonable to keep your scanner up to date

It only gets very expensive if you choose not to update and want to play catch up a couple of years down the line

I find it very strange when garages purchase a scanner and then do not keep it up to date, after all its a working tool

Hope your OK Lee, good to catch up with you on here

i always used to pay the subscription but decided i would rather keep my Texa upto date as this has more indepth use than my MODIS and now i've just bought Autologic French package that has to be updated as well.

So i've decided to let my MODIS go and pay the remainding balance towards the Verdict which from the looks of it is more modern and has some nice little features added to it plus its on the latest software version when i get it.

If things go ok when we setup the new workshop i may opt for subscription again.

          thanks
          lee

          p.s

the scope speed of th verdict from the specs looks faster, or have i read/mis-understood them.
