I feel the Verus Edge is a very capable tool, really what the line should have been all along, but alas the growing pains......
I have had no real issues with it, they say you can use it to do flash programming (I have done some GM and Chrysler) but the Witech software warns that Win 7 Embedded is not supported. It is a huge improvement over the first Verus, battery last longer, it's lighter, produces less heat, faster in speed, etc.S. Breland -
Just bought one yesterday and got it today. Huge improvement over the older Verus. Boots alot faster and overall its quicker. Had to change background to aero. The only thing that I hate is that I always have problems updating, I'm sure they blocked it on this tool as well. Either way, I like it a lot. Flashing will never be done in this tool bc problems. Lol. I use laptops for that even though this tool is capable of this. Good stuff. Any tips on how to speed up anything in this tool? Thanks!

Too much for General repair tech Unless you are Dedicated Drivability guy
The Verus Edge looks Top Dog Cool Awesome and best for a dedicated Drive ability and electrical specialist or shop tool for the entire production shop , but as a General repair tech with 50% or less of your work you get requiring a scan tool at all and less than 5% of those jobs even requiring an oscilloscope. I think paying 2K for used Solus Edge and about $700 for a used Vantage Pro, you start seeing a return on your investment from those particular Driveability jobs you need it, way sooner and within 6months instead of paying 6 years on a revolving account, way after the novelty of the new wears off and you honestly can say it's bought and paid for (from the jobs you actually used it for) and now making you money.

Diagnosing isnt really that hard but in my job its kind of time consuming when it comes to it anbd time is money. I've start diagnosing with just a generic ob2 scanner and just back probed, tested the wiring, componet, and also the connector which take time. I just think that getting a scope would kind of by pass it and get stright to the point especially with intermitant problems with check engine lights and driveablitly issue but also push my drive as a tech.
Any other inputs and also what kind of deals were you guys able to get with it??Comment

The main selling point on these platforms is being able to diagnose, test, view live data, lookup repair info, wiring diagrams and such, all from the tool itself. Not having to go to a computer, then back to the vehicle and test, then back to a computer, is the biggest time saver for me. I think one of S.O. slogans = Keep the tech at the car, is the focus here. These tools are not for everyone, and everyone does not need this kind of tool. It's good to have a choice, and I choose this tool.S. BrelandComment

that none of their other platforms gives you. Wireless scanner and if you like, even wireless 2 channel scope option - and the only 4 channel scope they still offer along with the only remaining scope they offer that they didn't do away with the ignition analyzer features - both of these pretty important to a scope dope like me.You can expect the reputation of your business to be no better than the cheapest item or service you are willing to sell. - WheelComment
