does anyone know how to effectively test the timing phasers on a 5.4 3 valve. I have a bank that is low on contribution test. was wondering what to look for on the scanner if possible for phaser operation.

I watched a video with the Verus checking cam retard pid on a GM and the pid was not located in engine data, it was located in EGR, EVAP, ACC.
Not sure that Snappy has things arranged in Ford the same way if you want to find a similar pid listed and compare the pids between the 2 banks on that Ford 5.4

Is it setting any codes ? Both banks have cam position sensors so the PCM should be able to detect a cam that was out of phase or time. It should set a cam code, P0340, P0344, etc. These sound like circuit problem codes but they will set if cam timing is off also.Comment

Look at the ADVERR PIDs. Compare both banks to each other, and compare the ADVERR PID to the ADV (commanded) PID.Comment
