Scanner Data Refresh Rate too slow..

I found that the Verus is continusly recording the Data Pid information and I think its good for reviewing back what you missed, But Why when I select Custom Data Pids and only select 2 pids to display The refresh rate is still very slow as if I still had all the pids selected???? Is ther a way to turn off this feature and or only just select certin Data Pids to display and increase the data refresh rate? On My MODIS I had no probelms with this too bad I had to trade it in

I also found a problem in the scanner software in GM functional testing. when I am running any type of functional testing such as a Purge/seal Evap test, I found that the Verus reverts to a MODIS Text display and a ^^vv and<<or>> as well as the Y key and N key are displayed as touch screen buttons. when running a the test the Verus will lock up and display on the screen to press Y to continue, but the on screen Y/N <>V^ are gone, and there is no other way out but forcing a hard reboot of the complete unit. has anyone else run into this problem?????

Yeah I do notice the screen flicker when this happens, any Idea when SnapOn is going to fix this Bug? I get frustrated and just shut it down and pull out the good old Tech2 to continue testing.

Had an 04 ranger that wouldnt let me do evap testing / seal. Tried to actuate the canister vent and verus would not do it. Verified at connector of vent. Waisted about 30 min playing with it.

Hooked up my mt2500 and solus and had no problem

Already called SO tech support and gave them the vin.

Are you talking about using the new Ford Functional Tests to close the vent for EVAP Testing? If so, I've found that on most Fords you need to start/stop the engine for any Functional Test to work. Once you get them working they operate as expected, but if you command any Functional Test, and it doesn't happen, Start the vehicle, Shut it off, and turn the key back on.
For closing the Canister Vent on a Ford I just use Global OBDII Service Mode 8. It works reliably on most any Ford I've ever tried it on, and lots of other vehicles too.

                  slow refresh rate

I agree he refresh rate is VERY slow. I complained about this as one of my first complaints. I miss the Modis or even the SP for its high speed and better customization of the PIDs.

Yes. Have run into this a few times. Instead of restarting the whole unit I would just minimize the Verus software and then go to start, run and taskmgr. This will allow you to end the non-responsive program. saves a bit of time. the bi-directional controls are not very user friendly as well.

I hope they address these issues soon.

making a long story short, this is the 2nd verus we are trying out, today I was doing a EVAP monitor test on a 2005 Chry t/c 3.8 it says could take up to 20mins, after the first 30 sec it started making a constant clicking noise, a click every 1/2 second or so for over 20 mins - what is VERY STRANGE, it does NOT have an ABORT where as to stop the test??? finally had to reboot in order to cancel out the test, this happen 3 times, then i grabbed the modis and it went through with flying colors. and i can't begin to tell ya how SLOOOOOOW those pids are.. ie: ford & chrys...WOW! GOOD LUCK finding evan a 2sec GLITCH in those meters, they are 3 to 5 secs apart??? GM is not all to great either, but a little more workable, this is even after the v1.2.1 update. this is just the tip of the ice burg, sort of speak, ran into other NON working areas as well?

Verus showed yet another symptom today. The wireless would not operate and virtual keyboard would dissapear and could not bring them back up. Took about 10 restarts of the computer to bring them back.

Called tech support and the want me to delete some files off the computer and change settings. And it "might" fix some of the problems.

Hmmm... gee its under warranty so take it back and fix it was my response. Was told may take a cpl of months to do.
