Updates??????

I have not updated my windows yet. Been waiting to here more info before I attempt it. I did go to the Bluesoliel (or whatever) website though to check the bluetooth update. From what I can see you can update to "6" but we have "5" and you have to pay for "6". I didn't see where there were any updates for version 5. That's all I know.

9.2 is coming any day now. Curious to see if this will update some things other than the diagnostic suite.

I am curious as to what others are doing like you said you don't know if it will just update the scanner software or the windows software also? cause I have been reading the post and have noted that some of the other tech have been having small problems, mostley windows stuff. like icons not showing up on the task bar, I usually just restart it just like a computer and it usually reboots okay. I noticed if I plug in the power supply then start the verus up it usually has no problem. and it does not matter if the battery is fully charged or not. I usually leave mine pluged in all day cause the battery does not last all day, and if you are on it to look at alldata or mitchel or go on the internet cause their is a ton of repair info online, the battery only last a couple three hours anyway.
The real reason I am intrested though is it is a tool and I am wondering about the warrenty isue if you install any updates or any aftermarket programs, what would be the warrenty implactions, I mean it is really a tablet PC but it does not have a disc drive and did not come with a restore cd what if it crashed and you could not use windows restore? How could you get it back to factory oe spec?
The manuel is a pdf file that is on the verus, I printed it out so I can bring it home and read it my boss asked me what I was printing I mean I think it is something like 101 pages, when I told him it was the owners manuel he was kind of okay with it. anyway,
Do you give it to your snappy dealer and he sends it in?
most of them don't know what to do!
When I bought mine the dealer tried to activate it but had to bring it home and have snap on support help him activate it.
Yesterday when I shut it off it had a blue screen and said some stuff about not being shut down right, I was like what?????
I don't know why they did not use vista???

Cuzz vista absolutely SUX! lol. When you first boot up there is an option to hit the left alt key , I believe it is , this will initiate the verus "reimage" , which is pretty much like a restore disk. You need a usb keyboard to do it though and it will put it the verus back to its original state. HTH!

Vista uses to much memory and is a very complicated OS and with the limited available ram and the low processor speed that this Verus has it wouldnt run correctly with Vista

I dont think that they make an embeded verison of vista do they?

I don't know. But I wonder if you could update your verus just like a computer, you know put more memory or a faster prosser,
after all I think snap on updated the prosser on the modis to keep it alive.
But to tell you the truth for how slow the prosser and little memory it has it is not that slow. but more memory would make it faster. BUT WHAT WOULD MAKE IT CRASH LESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think that the reason it crashes so much is the other programs that it is running causing a conflict with windows but those programs on from SO I wouldnt get rid of them just hope SO fixes the glitches
