International software
Kenney969HD software cannot be put on the Verus. I know a few customers that have put OEM HD stuff on their Verus, like the International software, but it is not without its problems.
If you're serious about working on Class 8 trucks, take a good look at the Nexiq iQ. If that doesn't do it for you, go OEM. Pricing on that can be significant though.

Isn't the OBD H-D standard only on the newer trucks? Like 2010+?Pocket iQ announced. At $1300.00 it is about $300.00 less than getting it added to a Modis, which is cool. This tool only does HD Stadnard, which is a bit like OBDII for Trucks. It is Codes and Data only, and the data stream is standardized, and pretty limited in some applications. It's pretty darn good in some others. If you are serious about fixing big trucks, get an iQ, or go OEM. If it's not your main focus, this is a pretty inexpensive solution to get Codes and Data from a big truck.

No. I think you mean J1939? Not sure when they started it. I work on a lot of trucks, and am by no means an expert, but "generic" might be like SID254 FMI6 in :generic" but IH says its Code 525.
Just the other day I had issue with ABS on a IH 4300. "Generic" codes had me diagnosing an ABS inlet valve problem. Once I was at a dead end because I could find no problem with it, and the fact an EBCM was $3900, I bought the OE software for the particular brake system. Needless to say, it had a bad wheel speed sensor. The wrong software had me diagnosing the wrong parts.
Generic can sometimes get you in trouble. just like generic on a car.
I bought AutoTap for trucks (for generic capability and the RP1210A adaptor) and buy OE software as needed. I have Hino, ServiceMaxx, and Wabco Toolbox so far. It can get expensive, but not as expensive as misdiagnosing more than one $3900 computer! I understand Nexiq IQ is supposed to be great. The guys I talked to who DO do it every day were not impressed. So I did not buy it.
Take this FWIW.

Maybe someone's crazy ex that somehow wants to get in his face at work? Can you say restraining order? Maybe check member names ending in Williams to send condolences to
Judging by the picture of a face of some gal with a random one line sentence blurb with nothing to do with a 5 year old thread subject it's going to be spammer looking to send a ad ware virus to a verus. Beware , I wouldn't try to pm her .LOL
Probably a common ploy of doing random cookie cutter spamming in order to boost the hierarchy of someone's web page visibility on the internet.Last edited by Witsend; 02-25-2017, 07:49 AM.Comment
