Verus not turning on!?!? AARRHH

Happy New Year People,

I went to use my Verus yesterday and I can't get it to switch on, the fan is humming away to itself but I've got no hard drive light and just a black screen, anyone had this problem or anyone got a fixes for it?

Any help would be much appreciated,

First, force a shutdown by holding down the power button. Take out the battery, after disconnecting the power supply.
Now hold down the power button for one minute, this will discharge any capacitors in the verus.
This has worked for me for various issues in the past.

Second rule of computers.....Back Up your files......Programs you can usually re-aquire.....your collected data can't be replaced.

Hope you backed it up before your machine backfired.....LOL

well what happened was an incoming CRITICAL,update from SO caused the problem,a service patch i believe version2,,, looks like its a Uk problem,
help line been snowed under and now the patch in the uk been withdrawn.
So i guess we,ll see what happens ,,,

Yes files all backed up,got them on a usb,did it well in advance,tried to reload 12.4 on the van today,
Umm no did,nt work,never mind eh,all fun this pc stuff,never had a problem with the modis for 7yrs

I always avoid updates, Unless there's no way around it.

Mine does this also about once per week. Esp if I use it alot and am turing it on and off through out the day.

I just have the same problem won't turn on, I can hear the fan humming and power light and antenna on but hard drive light not flashing. I try the holding power button and remove battery and nothing, same thing, I call customer service and they said i have to send it for repair with my snap on dealer representative. Not warranty AAAAHHHHHHGGGGG

I haven't backed up my verus. What do you use to back it up?
