verdict loses WiFi when I disconnect scanner module

Any help from verdict users would be appreciated. I have had this scan tool since Oct. 2010 and has always lost WiFi intermittently but since update 10.4.4

When I start the verdict up I have internet capabilities but when I scan a car and disconnect the scanner module by backing all the way out and hitting change vehicle the WiFi signal is lost. I have gone to network connections and my network says full strength but I can't connect to it until I hook the S3 module up to a car. I have contacted tech support more times then I have fingers and toes and they tell me I am too far from my wireless router. Which makes no sense because why would my network show full strength? Last time I spoke with tech support they had me re image my verdict and download firmware. All that did was erase my personal settings! Any tips or advice, I would love to hear some feedback!

I have similar problems with the bosch M-VCI dropping wireless connection on my verus if the Atlas program is running in the background. Never looses the internet from the router though. I have heard others with complaints of wireless dropping out with Verdict but mine works fine in this area. Try it at home with a diff router to see if it has something to do with the wireless environment.

Scanner operations should not have any impact on your wifi connectivity as the scanner communicates via Bluetooth. If you have re-imaged your tool I would suggest verifying that you still have 10.4.4 and not 10.4. Also I would suggest downloading and running the the Microsoft Malicious Software removal tool - http://www1.snapon.com/cc/MS_Malicious_Software.exe - a worm or virus may be affecting your wifi. If those two issues don't resolve your wifi connectivity issues I would try connecting to a different wifi network to ensure the problem isn't with your wireless network. Beyond all that I would request that your franchisee send the D7 display in for warranty repair due to a bad wifi module.

I have had this same problem even when I exit out with a new vehicle. What I did was set my IP address to a staic and not auto.

Go to start then click on run
type: "CMD" and then hit enter
type: "ipconfig" look for the ip address that was asigned to you by your router or modem. Write that ip address down and close window
Go to start then click on network connections
right click on your network connection go to properties
Look for "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) click on it, then click properties
Use the IP address you wrote down
            submask 255.255.255.0
your gateway will be your router IP address or Modem like 192.168.1.1

Then for your DNS sever use your gateway address
Then the alternate DNS sever will be 4.2.2.2

That is how I set mine up and never had a problem with losing my connection

              the solution

although the fix is very simple it only took me a year to figure it out.

when disconnecting the s3 module or the m2 module you must first hit the home button and get to the start screen.

then you must hit the change vehicle button and wait until the icon on the lower tool bar says no active vehicles.

now you can unplug your s3 module and you should not lose your wifi connection

thankyou for all of your replies and support.
