Since a lot of people have Blue tooth Smart phones , surprised with the wireless VCI Snappy didn't develop a multifunction VERUS with up to 4 VCI's,for shop use and load a smart phone Apt and techs use smart phone , kindle HD or cheap window tablet as a virtual Verus so the shop's genuine Verus can just stay put in it's docking station as a mothership kind of server until the need for the use of the scope, then everyone knock the living sh@t out of their own Smart phones or a cheap windows tablet instead of dropping your shop's pricey $10K Verus. The HDMI only comes on the docking station.

Yes the screen is sunlight friendly, I took my Verus Edge out into the sunlight to confirm and had no problem seeing what is on the screen.

Docking stations are still a better idea - unless you enjoy hooking up multiple cables to your unit and wasting time. With a properly designed docking station, all you should have to do is plunk your Verus down in it and you're done - nothing else to connect. They learned a lot since the original Verus and its docking station.

          This would be a disaster.
          1. What about test drives?
2.It would require several times the computing power it now has and cost several times the price - it is expensive enough now.
3.A scanner is glitchy enough (and not just Snap on's) working on ONE car
This would multiply exponentially for each car added.
You can expect the reputation of your business to be no better than the cheapest item or service you are willing to sell. - Wheel

Seemed to me 10 years ago back in 2004 or 2005 one of the techs at a Ford dealer with some connections with engineers was already Beta testing something he got from Ford and had an I phone paired to a VCI from the new Ford IDS.I don't know how he got it or how much he could do off his phone at that time, but I believe he was using his phone with the VCI way back then. I laughed and thought who would want to deal with such a small screen to work with. But after the first time the Verus accidentally crashes to the ground, you would say it would be nice to somehow sacrifice a $200 Windows Tablet unless the Verus scope is needed.

If there was a Snap ON App. phone or tablet apt The phone or windows tablet would down load only the software from the Verus required for the specific VIN and software could be auto deleted from phone or tablet within 48 hours, or when to conserve space on the phone or tablet's hard drive.

I love mine. I had a gen 1 verus, and though it had some cool things, it was a pile. Jumped to a solus pro and a fluke 100mhz scope. This edge is what it always should have been. I am so glad I did not get the pro. Making money is all about the tool doing what it does well, with no issues, and NO WAITING. Love this little unit.

I case any of you think I'm a fanboy of anything, I have thrown 10K tools across the field and ran them over , regardless of whose name were on them. I have no patience for ANY issues with my tools, the vehicles I deal with are hassle enough, the tools have to work well, and as fast as possible.

Is this thing expensive? Heck yeah, but it works for me-finally.

From what I read the Maxi Cyst Pro's add on usb scope's software disappoints so far and doesn't look like a worthy competitor to anyone's scope software out there yet.

At least 15 years of availability and 10 more years of support.

It would definitely be nice if the BK -8000 output could be wirelessly viewed on the Verus' big screen in real time. Also the output of Snap On's wireless battery tester.

Well, if it eventually pisses you off so bad that you whip the $10K Verus Edge across, the field and it splits in half. Please don't run it over.
First take a bunch of close up pictures of the manufacturer part #'s of the touch screen, Motherboard, ram, and hardrive, so the rest of the guys know what to expect inside the Verus Edge in advance before they start taking their's apart in several years after Windows security updates slow things back down to a crawl again and guys want to max the ram and put in the latest Holographic, liquid plasma core drive to replace the Verus Edge's SSD. ROFLMAO

                                Damn you!!!

We no longer have a scan tool demo guy in this area and most dealers won't drop the cash on a demo unit.

Can you answer this question for me? What is the size difference between this and the Verus 1 and 2???

                                It seems much thinner obviously.
