well 5 days and close to 150 miles havent seen the merc. back. Stoped in last night to look at a car for her son and said it's running good. Thank God. I hate MAF's and to boot 2 def. parts in a row. gotta love it
I've tried and tried, but can't seem to fix stupid!
No tools needed, no pinching, don't need cast iron finger nails. Just turn the collar and pull. Maybe a leaker in few years. A bout the only good I can say about the new Escape. It got about a million pieces in the front end. Simple was never a Ford thing. I pull the drive train so the body shop can pull the rails.
Quick releases are all great until the voids in them that need to be clean and free of debris to allow that cool, easy disconnection become filled with salt, sand and other detritus. Then you end up breaking them just to undo the lock, and find the fitting isnt serviced separately.
The escape is the maybe the first I've seen that uses 2 front wiper motors, one for each wiper. They're talkers on the net. Stay in sync and maybe collision avoidance. Maybe gotta sync them when reassembly time comes ? It also got reverse gear wipe ?
Nick, the System Diagram in the picture below is not expandable ?

I'll look in to it.

Have you ever had to change the filler pipe on a 99 Navigator ? Not enough room between the body and the frame to get flange through. Don't fight it or lift the body just bend the flange back in 2 spots and it'll slide through. The flange will bend back easy enough once you get it through and bolt up just fine.
Sometimes if you have a tough knot it's better to just cut the rope. Some days I really miss the old Mitchell TIP system, I' still run into the old ones and use them all the time. I even miss Mr. One Star.
If you got 6.4 Diesel, what sounds like a belt squeal or bearing locked up really ain't. Check the Exhaust manifolds. They can be skreechers when the bolts let loose. Cab off and replace them all right away. Might have to do some drilling.
thats the only way one can get it done, just keep letting your self how fun this cr-a-p is to do. Count down almost done, T - 5 days, DOVER, this time next week I'll be at the track with my rocky mountian buddys waiting for crashes.
