Blast from the past: Quad Driver Module Failure.....

First one of these I have had in years, almost forgot how to procede. Dusted off the last remaining grey cell and replaced PCM. All good in the land Quad Drivers now.....

Just wanted to say "hi" to y'all. Been awhile.. Had an operation on my wore out wrist last Oct. (Four corner fusion) Then got septis infection that (due to my stubbornness on going back to the doc) turned into septic shock in Nov. (guess I tried to check out) Still not over it, but I seem to be getting stronger every day! (even had to hire me some help) Sad part is I need to get the other one done as well! Anyway enough about me, Hope y'all are doing good.

Hope not to sound like a jerk (maybe I just need to spend some time on my pony) but the reason for my post: Nick, why is there no information on Estimator for a '90 GMC P3500 Value van, other than changing the door handle? I checked "89-'90-'91- and '92. Nothing! Checked the Vandura and information is there except for turn signal switch? (the information I was looking for) Yes, I know about what I should charge, but pay good $$$$ for Mitchell & Mitchell Manager & prefer hitting the transfer button as to having to type my work in.. If you could have them check it out, would be greatly appreciated! A good customer just bought this rig for his business and I'm sure I'll be seeing it again.

Sorry to hear what you went through.

As for the P3500. We generally didn't cover those or cab & chassis in parts and labor. The door handle you mention probably isn't even for the vehicle and should be removed from that vehicle.

You can use other vehicles for some of the labor times but you have to use your own judgment.

hey greasy, you seem to be realy up on this stuff. using the reprogramer on a ford can you program a new key if you only have one key for car. I keep seeing you need 2 keys . confused, cant see why you couldn't but I don't want to bring it in and mess it up.

You can usually add a single key. If you are replacing a theft module (or PCM in most cases) you will need two keys.

tire problems

ok tossing this out for any suggestions.Rewind 5 yrs ago Replaced 6 10 ply nexon tires on parents camper. 02 ford class 3 30fter. trip from pa to fl blew out 1 front. why???? but on return trip other 5 had broken belts. Co that I was. yes was buying off Told me to go fly a kite cause they were overloaded. Realy over load a 10 ply tire thats on a camper? Why I stopped buying from them. Replaced with 6 more tires. 3 yrs. later and 9,000 miles had a blow out on return trip and found other 3 rear tires with broken belts, one of them ready to blow out. Can't remember who I bought these off of but they were cheapy jap. tires. Anyway put 4 10ply mastercrafts on now. WHy are we going through so many tires w/ broken belts. Sitting to much? hot fl. temps? Note I couldnt find any dryrot on tires. Never heard or seen this. I have 4 yrs on my class 3 camper that gets less than 700 miles a year and just starting to dry rot. Reason I changed them was because of dryrot. Any Ideas?????

how much pressure you putting in these ? E load rated tires ? If you consider the Mastercrafts a "high end" tire, then yes there could be quality issues.

If those "Mastercraft" tires are from Canadian Tire Corporation, they are NOT anything special at all-!! Up here CTC is known as Crappy Scrappy....

Load range C, D or E-??? With a loaded camper I would make sure they're "E" rated as Eric points out and keep the pressures up.

If the vehicle only calls for C-rated tires at 50-psi, with camper loads I would suggest E-rated tires and they could probably hold 80-psi but I would probably set them at 70-psi COLD if the truck is a 3/4 ton or lighter. If it was a 1-ton I would set them to 80.
I have found very few problems of any kind since I have gone with Michelins for 90% of my customers.

dR. Jake, You still lurking ? I sell my Escort for $250, maybe worth more as scrap ? They driving it, needed it more than me. I've been car free (carefree) for a month now. I quit driving except for test drives. I bike or run to work and can get most of the necessities of life from Amazon. Yep they got groceries (dry goods) on amazon pantry. a whole box shipped to your door in 2 days for 5 bucks. I get Power Ade, granola and trail mix in bulk UPSed right here to the shop, cheap. Pretty cool, It cost to drive a car but worse than that shopping sucks or going into town for any reason for that matter. Once you find what you want on the big A you just hit re-order when supplies are running low. I get all the fresh veggies I need from my garden, Freezer full, corn and taters to sell, !!

I think that some people get caught on the 8 or 10 ply "RATING" because they are "rated" as 10 ply but may not necessarily actually HAVE 10 plys.
The semantics that some tire manufacturers can be a little, shall we say, not fully disclosing of the actual "facts".
