Hey every one, I'm here now. The party can start now!

Have to set the record straight, Jake said I almost messed up a 14,000 dollar optical unit, that is not correct. I just thought that I had killed it , but the connector had a problem. Made me draw up REAL tight when the machine gave an error code that the troubleshooting manuals only response to is to replace optical unit. Felt real good when I found the bad connection.

Hoe every one is doing good!

Welcome to the American Car Doctors....DrD907 is me mate from alaska. A fine bloke he is sometimes. He knows Sara Palin, makes like a bat cause of blown out back scarples but still works/runs a shed in Anchorage. Not much workbench for him I think. Just holds on to the mudflaps. hehehehe

Nick, update idea for the PRO. Make it so we can print TIPs made in the On Demand version. This way we could make a PDF that could be posted in Sure Track. No point in trying to solve the same problem twice.

Good to see you Liljoe and all other new users! nice to keep in touch with the doctors that made OD5 a great success, you guys join sure track? Some tech put a water pump in a 2.7 intrepid and now no start unless CMP unplugged. He did sensor, connector and test drove after getting it running, no codes blah blah. Gave him the "protect mode" advice of T-chain off a tooth = nostart and I got the "I would like to believe you but" My reply started "waste all the time you want" Should have been I am wasting MY time! You give the answer and THEY DON"T LISTEN, many an apprentice begged for help after I just walk away after such.

Miles, do you have a scope file of a 2.7 cam/crank signal ? Im looking to see if I can find one. Post that on S/T There were so many 2.7 no start and timing issue comments on On Demand but they're harder to find in the PRO. Doesn't a 2.7 have a Cam/Crank sync PID on the scanner.

I think I'm going to start a new catch phrase. "I just got Dormaned" . I replaced the heater hose assembly on an 02 Taurus because the pipes were rotted. Started the vehicle up and ..... It looked like the brake booster was leaking coolant ???? A closer look and there was a pin hole in the pipe on the new heater hose assembly. Next will be " I just got Cardoned"

Greasy I got no waveforms on the 2.7, never needed to check them during diagnostics. There is cam\crank sync PID on them, some years have start and run sync's like every time a new processor is used new PIDS are introduced. The tech with the W/P issue is waiting for a dealer CMP and if that doesn't fix it he is going back in, like he should have right after the nostart occurred. Poor guy or gal is frustrated, 6 hour job and a redo, customer on his back and if flat rate you lose SO much. He has vowed to ban all 2.7's from the shop now! Got to do a little reading for that chain job to get her all lined up.

One thing with this forum if you got to take notes on what you were going to say as you can't see previous posts and my memory is VIC20 like! The Dorman parts! The boss likes them, must be the profit and I must say been having better luck with their parts. We actually got a shelf of Dorman parts since most are a day away.

Re-do on a timing isn't much fun, Check, check and check it again turn it over by hand and check it one more time before you bolt it up. A 2.7 isn't that bad. Some newer engines have to be dropped out to pull the front cover. I can't find a cam/crank wave form either. All the 2.7 s around here are dead or the cars they were put in are rusted away.
I got Cardone-d last week with a power steering pump on a 5.9 diesel that lasted 2 days.
