Today had to install a rear evaporator in a 2004 Yukon XL that had a 60 pound sub box in the back and two big amps plus an aux battery in the way. The lack of extra time was sweet bliss when the leak was from a screw to mount one amp penetrated the core! This recent install also had a upgraded HO alternator and modified main harness, I wonder if their install has a A/C repair warrantee coverage? Funny thing was out of four mounting screws three where short and the long one hit top dead center of core, One inch up or left or right and all would have been OK!

Not too thrilled with the Snap On driver right now. The diagnostic package came at an amazing price, also A free year update. My driver is trying to activate it as if it were still on the truck. ( Saves his pocketbook from loosing money.) I get it.
He showed up to get the payment contract signed, activated it, received the 1st payment. Have not seen him since. Apparently, I am on demo mode. This is a picture of when I tried to use it today. Guess I need to call him to make my payment. I hope he fixes it so I can continue to use it.
If not, I am following the tree to rectify this B.S. ( Not the 1st time.)

I figure , he's letting the free 30 day demo period run out while making sure you don't have Cold feet and just turn into A One Payment Wonder before he turns on the real deal One year Subscription. Not too thrilled with the Snap On driver right now. Case Study 729-3
Patient...02 F250 5.4l, 170,000 miles
Symptoms... rough idle, smooth acceleration, smooth cruise, an occasional "puff" sound coming from the exhaust at idle.
Diagnosis... a few misfires on record in mode 6, test 53, cylinder one. A few negative numbers showing in cylinder contribution test on cylinder one. Relative cranking compression test showed nothing exceptional. No codes.
Remedy... add one pint of SeaFoam to the engine oil, after about 60 or 70 miles of driving all symptoms resolved.
Conclusion... the occasional "puff" sound heard from the exhaust and negative cylinder contribution on cylinder one was likely a stick exhaust valve or lifter.
Kind of wished I had done a running compression test to verify but time did not allow so I prescribed the SeaFoam with a wait and see for now.Last edited by greasybob; 08-22-2015, 01:11 PM.Comment

Yeah, I think that is true. Just not happy with the thought of it not going to work when I come back in on Monday.

Seen a facebook post where woman was recommended to put seafoam in her engine, she couldn't find any so used expanding foam instead, looks nice filling all the crevasses in a valvecover......

I would like to believe he knows better. I have purchased a Solus, traded it in for a Modis, 5 years of updates. Now this. Today was his day again, now 2 payments not made, no return phone call, and it does not load. Could have used it twice today.
Guess I need to see if there is a payment set up to pay on-line. (Hope I am not getting pinged for late payments.) Hard to pay when he does not show.

I am now the proud owner of new Vantage Ultra. Got a deal on it. I wanted something between the Verus scope and my old Vantage. The Verus is a great scope but not that portable. The vantage is a good meter but doesn't have the resolution you want some times. Looks cool but I think I need a new adapter for the pressure transducers.Comment

It kinda nice to have something you can quick and grab to take under dash or under the hood with you and you don't need ten feet of test leads. I'm not comfortable placing my Verus in precarious positions. Maybe there is some thing to be said for having the scope separate from the scanner, less cables and leads to mess with.Comment

That was one of the selling points of the verus pro for me. The scope module detaches, and uses a 10 foot usb cord to plug into scanner. I never liked my modis spending so much time laying in the hot engine compartment, or hanging off of the edge of a fender or grille. It kinda nice to have something you can quick and grab to take under dash or under the hood with you and you don't need ten feet of test leads. I wonder if he's been either using sub-standard oils, OR, extending oil change intervals.Case Study 729-3

Years ago when things lubricated by the engine oil were "sticking", we would add a half a quart of ATF and the cleaners in the ATF would clean out the gum and varnish.
I'm sure you've heard of that but lots of younger guys haven't.Comment
