[QUOTE=Witsend;53995]I think I would tried to talk my customer into walking away from it. Seems those 4 bangers are oil burning whores, that ruin the Cats and where the Tchain guides crack and will sound like a bunch of marbles before they will lock up. An 02 all fixed and running be only worth about $1500 if you're lucky .
        Don't do it Rambo!

Done. was a SNAFU from the start. Pulled head, sent it out for pressure testing and surface. Machine shop recommended valve job. Customer 1st declined. Then decide 2 days later to do it. Long story short: Rebuilt head, new timing chains, etc. Sat for a week until I could take care of floor pan issues. It is done now, over 3k in the bank. Customer is happy, I am glad to get it out. No job should take 6 weeks. Wrong head bolts, sealed box of timing chain kit came with wrong balance shaft chain, Phaser bolt started stretching, (Never hit torque.) For a bit, was literally, do one process per day. set head down, wait. Bolt head down, install cams, wait 2 days for phaser bolt. Install Phaser, get ready to set up chains. Balancer chain is packaged wrong. Half the length and wrong type. Like a bicycle chain. Wait another 2 days until the right chain shows up. ETC! The floors are now twice as thick as factory.

Hey Bob. Just talked to my buddy that lifts trucks, Yes it will cause a problem on tire size. He has to program size into computer so abs and shift points are correct, Co. called hyper teck should have it. #752501 should be the program. Supposed to be plug and play through obd 2 connector. hope this helps
I've tried and tried, but can't seem to fix stupid!

Hey X, deal with it all the time. fun changing brake lines, fuel lines, tranny lines, patching floors, drilling rusted/frozen bolts on the pinch type struts that never go bad. sub frame bolts frozen and or them welded nuts in the frame break free.
Had my fun with one today also. 02 grand am, no start/starting problem. turn key to start would just crank. Hooked up scanner, turned key to run while scanner I checked data, everything looked fine and car would start. cycle key off/on, car would not start. opened data back up, car would start. HUMMMMM????? Did notice fuel pump wasn't running. Don't know what told me but when I looked at ign. voltage w/ first turn of key only seen 6-8 volts, 10 sec. later would jump to 12.6 volts. new ign. switch took care of problem. another one for the books. Funny thing that it happened every key cycle the same way and same time.

Dodge 90 , you don't know what told you to look at ignition voltage turning the key? Maybe you read my thread "Perpetual Diagnostic Hole of a vehicle", where I died on a 94 Camaro and it just turned out to be a tiny dead spot in the ignition switch rotation that interrupted voltage supply between Key on and Cranking .

Hey Bob , judging from your screen shot of that erratic LR wheel speed , I think I would pull the LR brake caliper and rotor and see what is going on inside with the axle tone wheel, bearing slop and parking brake shoe hardware, and just leave the aftermarket tuner and mud wheel size re -programming to the Red neck Donker Shops.
Them giant wheels generate so much tire noise , you probably wouldn't be able to hear a bad axle or differential pinion bearing noise. LMAO

                    Hey Greasy Bob,

I noticed you like to use a lot of vibrant color schemes for your operating system appearance themes, just out of curiosity is there a reason behind this?

Nah, I just save the screen shots to a jpg with Windows Paint, then invert the colours because things show up a lot clearer. Note, once save to paint I reduce the size 20% with "simple image resizer " so that they will fit here. http://www.simpleimageresizer.com/

got it thanks, what is it about the normal color scheme that is not so clear?

I would only invert the colors if it saved me ink

It shows up better and saves lots of black internet ink (or black pixels).

Well the Hyper Tech fixed the speedometer issues, was 10 mph off at hi-way speeds before. I used the "mark the tire and floor and roll ahead one revolution and measure method" to get the actual tire size. But I'm still getting unintended ABS operation on sharp turns, with or without the brakes being applied. More checking ......

                                '06 Jeep Wrangler 4.0 Mod.

Anybody out there have to perform Chrysler T.S.B. 25-001-07? (Yes, you may have to look it up.)

My cousin brought Wrangler in for C.E.L. and wanted it smog tested. Performed repairs, cleared codes. Drove, and drove, and drove. Only Monitor not set was O2 Heater. Last time it was tested was July 2014.

Back then, was O.K. to have 2 Monitors not set. Now in CA. can only have 1 not set, and it can only be Evap. Monitor. I drove, and tested for 4 days. Found nothing wrong, but would not set. Finally found T.S.B. through Forums.

Mitchell has it listed, but not tagged through the 2 search units in system. (Generic search, or Component search.) The T.S.B. tab on top shows no T.S.B.'s apply.

Basically, you have to modify the wiring in the Power Distribution Center to convert the 2 fused ignition switch wires for the P.C.M. to constant power.

It worked for me. Started it, let it idle for 5 minutes. Key off or 1/2 hour, key on. Monitor was set. My guess is that this Monitor had never set in it's 10 years of its life.

Now my question: Has anyone performed this repair and had a draw issue afterwards? Key power wires at P.C.M. are now battery fed 24/7. I just performed repair, draw looks O.K. now, can not communicate with P.C.M. with key off. Just trying to look ahead.

Another questionable issue for me: this is badged as an Unlimited Rubicon, but has 6 speed manual transmission. In the Vehicle selection, seems the only option is the 65th anniversary edition. Wiring diagram still shows automatic. Anybody know if there is a difference in power wires for P.C.M.?
