Guess I'm just a pan zzeee cause I'm getting sick of it by now. I feel bad for the southerners, not used to the cold or realy expect that type of weather. Up here you expect it and deal with it. Fathers in Fl. and complained it got to 56 deg. the other night but 75 during the day
. Waaaa, stay warm guys, few more weeks and we'll be complaining it's to HOT!!
I've tried and tried, but can't seem to fix stupid!Comment

In the '70s here but also had to pay $2.739 for regular gas today. Supposed to go up again tomorrow because of the refinery explosion in L.A. yesterday.SureTrack Community Administrator, Diagnostics forum Administrator.Comment

Nick--- $2.74 a gallon-!! Hell, how would you like to pay over a buck a litre up here-!!! And that's in BEAVER BUCKS not REAL dollars-!!! Add another 25% to the exchange rate-!!
You guys complaining about the price of gas and the cold....Ya SKIP-!! Put your mittens on and make sure the wife puts the strings through your sleeves too-!! LOL.. Heated handle grips-!! LMAO-!!
Maven...A T-shirt at 20-F and above almost makes you a Canuck-!!
If you've ever worn a parka and shorts at the same time.....LOL (don't laugh...I HAVE to go outside for some firewood-!! LOL)
Stay warm people-!
Bring on the Global Warming-!! PLEASE-!!!Comment

9 degrees, colder here than where the cold air is made. 25 in Alaska, 34 in Edmonton. This needs to be addressed.
Itz gonna get weird. Thay say its going to snow tomorrow. That's odd too.
Gets any colder, the zoo will start coming inside at night. We can put on mohr drawers, they cant not.

Nick, what is this (see below). The link doesn't work. There are no written instructions ? And the video, after you do all that typing to get the address, is very grain with no sound. Maybe Dr. D or Jake can make a better video. That starter is a very tight fit but if you turn while pulling the rear of it out first it does come out. Thought I was going to have to remove the motor mount for a minute there. Phewwww !!!Attached FilesComment

GB,
We aren't able to put links to the videos at this time in the product. We're starting to get more and more of these from the OEMs so we're looking at improving it. They're mostly in TSBs but there are a few repair ones like this.SureTrack Community Administrator, Diagnostics forum Administrator.Comment

I think Googling problems of vehicles and reading about owners nightmare issues on forums is often better at knowing where to start than reading manufacturer TSBs, Manufacturers aren't going to just come out themselves and say We have a big problem with durability of most 05 and 06 2.5 valve train components. We aren't going to issue a recall on all the engines, but if you had all your maintenance done at the Farfignueggen Level and the engine valvetrain fails within 10 years or 100K , we might warrantee the repairs under the radar if you sign a Non Disclosure agreement.V.W. left again today, stayed gone so far. I think I got it this time.
I hate watching a you tube video through another site, it's sometimes frustrating , with ads or pop ups with need to to allow things to display in full screen mode and such. I just go straight to You tube and search the title and sometimes find a better version of it posted by a private party.Nick, what is this (see below). The link doesn't work. So you have an old engine, 300,000 miles. It's running rich, both by the tail pipe smell and the 02 and fuel trims. You pull the PCV out and feel all the blow by. Just to prove it you do a compression test, it's at the lower limit. The valve adjustment is ok as is the timing. So maybe it's incomplete combustion that's causing the rich smell. But what about the 02s and the fuel trims. The PCM sees the 02 and MAP (speed density system) for trims, the 02 sees a lack of oxygen as rich correct ? How does incomplete combustion contribute to a lack of oxygen in the exhaust? The fuel trims indicate the PCM is leaning the fuel as much as it canComment

The bias voltage (450mV) to the oxygen sensor "goes" to wherever there is more oxygen. If the is more oxygen in the exhaust(lean) the voltage "goes" mostly to the exhaust and less "goes" to the ECM. So a lean condition with high O2 content in exhaust has all the voltage "going" to the exhaust instead of the ECM, so the ECM sees low voltage. Low voltage=Lean as we know.
If theres less oxygen in the exhaust stream(rich) than in the sensor/reference cell the voltage "goes" away from the exhaust, and "goes" from the sensor and to the ECM since theres more oxygen in the sensor/wires. More voltage=Rich.
The rich smell could be from the excessive blowby.
Excessive blowby can also contaminate the O2S internal cell, insulating it from the exhaust stream. if you block the transfer of oxygen to the sensor internals you have a false rich condition.(the ECM sees high voltage even though the exhaust stream isnt rich) start pulling fuel from an engine that isnt actually running rich, and you get a lean incomplete combustion and potential fuel smell.
Is this an actualy vehicle or just an exercise?Comment
