Way to hang in there X. glad ya got it.
If you have any of the Snap On lithium Ion 14.4 or 18 volt rechargeable tools, avoid allowing coolant, oil or tranny fluid to drip onto or into the tools. The fluids are not friendly to electronics inside and you will develop trigger problems. Snap On may not warranty such failures and say that the tool was submerged in fluid even if it was only used in a normal automotive repair environment.

I am glad it is done (again) also. Just a bad run of bad parts creating issues.

I have the Snap On 18V 1/2" drill, never been wet of any sort. Have replaced the switch assembly twice now on my dime. As far as the rest of my cordless tools, I am happy with my Matco units. 3/8 impact, 1/4 impact, 3/8 mini drill, 3/8 ratchet 1/4 ratchet. Most all have been wet in one form or another. The only issue was with my 1/4 impact a few years ago. It would intermittently quit working. Turns out the spring for one of the brushes had broken in 3 pieces. Matco ordered a set and gave them to me. Since they were on order, I took apart a ball point pen and used that spring. Still works, and still have the replacements in a bag. I am sure you can buy the same products through the Cornwell truck.

Why is a 2012 Dodge Ram 3500 listed as a Ram in Shop Key but as a Dodge in the 15.2 scanner software ?

The trucks are listed under both in the scanner. Many people still call them Dodges.

The repair product and the scan tools do not use the same exact vehicle lists. That whole RAM vs. Dodge thing has been confusing from the start.

Negatory on the Scanner ID. The Verus only gives the option for a 6th vin CV/G with a 3.6 (G) if you try to ID the vehicle as RAM. The same with auto or manual ID.

Did a water pump on a 2007 Saturn Outlook, Lambda platform with a 3.6 today and while following up had a drip from area south of balancer. Do you GM guiros know if GM put oil leak retardant behind the stamped steel plate that is bolted to aluminum front cover and has no other function? I did not like the procedure of removing a under hood electrical center so pulled balancer to do pump, should have removed said plate but didn't think that a manufacture would go to that extent to avoid warrantee repairs! Hour and half to do pump and haft hour more to blow oil and coolant from said area. X, glad you got the 4.0 done! Things looking better? Still got the plan every morning of get her done? Gressy you worry too much, RAM Dodge, who knows anymore but you always fix them in record time!

                  Get er done

Funny you should ask.... Literally after I get rid of the '94 Ranger. An old customer (that has been gone for about 3 years) shows up with his '93. Idles like junk, fuel trims are whacked, no acceleration after 2500 R.P.M.'s. Has 1 and 1/2 years of receipts from the local Precision tune. They replaced plugs, wires, T.P.S., M.A.F., all 6 injectors, all after replacing squeaking synchronizer..... I check it out, found synchronizer roughly timed to companion cylinder, #5, not even timed right. This one has no hatch mark for 26 degrees after T.D.C.. Here I go again messing with a synchronizer, of course, it would not drop in place like the instructions say, the oil pump drive would not line up. I have to tap the remote starter to get it to drop the final little bit. (I know this is a synchronizer that has been replaced by someone else, not going to be a manufacturing size issue like the other.) The way the install went, felt the same to me. I was literally gagging over it. It ran 98% better, trims evened out, just an occasional miss under heavy load. Finally took 4 R&R's of the spark plugs while trying to tap the plug holes to eliminate the gigantic gobs of silver anti-sieze.

Not sure why I get these jobs, I will find the resolution eventually. Right now, I am fixing another shops screw up on a P.T. Cruiser.

I may feel old and beat, sometimes I need to vent!!!! I still try to get er done.

                  X

It would appear that the 15.2 software will only recognize 13 and newer RAM trucks, older than that and it's a Dodge. If it's older than a 2013 the software will only recognize the C/V, cargo van version of the Caravan.

Dang, I thought they used to do it that way. It would make sense though.

The reason is fairly simple from the scanner side of things. The vehicle ID is determined by the VIN. In 2012, a Ram Truck was using a 5th VIN character "D" which would put it in the Dodge category. In 2013, the 5th VIN character was changed to "R" which would put the Ram Trucks into the Ram category.

The whole thing has definitely been confusing. When Chrysler originally decided to just go with the "Ram" naming, they claimed that it would remained VIN'ed as a Dodge. Well, they lied because they changed it for the 2013 Model Year!

Genius's, they replaced the dual mass flywheel with a one piece made in China cheapy. the adapter plate to flywheel bolts rattled loose (very noisy). Wreck the rear housing and the adapter plate. The only good news, everyone thought the engine making the noise and we get it for cheap. 09 Dodge 6.7

About 6 months ago had a 2000 300M in for misfire and O'2 codes, testing pointed to a possible injector problem on bank 1 and customer declined further testing. Fast forward to last week and customer comes in and wants #5 injector replaced that we said was the problem but I ran normal diagnostics and found intake gaskets leaking on 5 and injector passed leak and spray pattern tests. Car comes back today for a fuel smell concern and no external leaks noted but extended crank and bank one trims in the -19 range. Pulled upper intake off and low and behold, #5 injector leaking a drop every 30 seconds! You could actually see the difference if you graft both front O'2s, bank 2 was smooth but with the excess fuel bank 1 was jagged to the point you could see every time #5's rich mix affected the sensor! Don't you hate when the customer is right!

07 BMW 650i, the back up sensors going nuts. The customer has an after market front license plate bracket that is threads into the tow hook spot. Looks real cool having your front plate off to the right side of the bumper, too bad it messes with the front right ultra sonic sensor.
