I like the TB ps lines. Not a huge money maker since i cant destroy the time , but they pay well anyway.

Ni/Cop line is all I use around here now. Make sure you dont cheap out though, there are different wall thicknesses available, and the thinner (usually imported) stuff is easy to make deformed flares, and kinks easily. Check to make sure you are getting stuff that meets recommended specs of ".028 wall thickness

Hey Crusty, then why would you chose a screen name with rust ?

That reminds me of the wife telling me she hates the "C" word and warning me never to say it . I asked her, " Then how can you love Country music then ?

Talk about Champagne dreams with a beer budget.
I have been doing research, have a couple plans drawn out for a realistic hydraulic pedal setup, I would love a steering unit with an H gate shifter. a computer with a graphics card to run 3 monitors, etc. etc. I can see cubic dollars flying out the window to keep pursuing this new found hobby. For right now, I will keep racing with my primitive set up.

nice set up crossland, Im still using game paddle w/ ps2, steering wheel and pedals not in my budget, at least the $2.200 set up.
Hey Crusty, tried looking that up but was realy wondering what it looked liked? Had a car from canada broke down awile back that needed a tranz. Had all this **** under it, real slimy, wouldnt work on it untill I steam cleaned it, but for a 91 buick century, it looked new under car and every thing came apart like it was new, car had high milage to boot. Guy just said it was a coating he gets put on every year or so since he bought the car. Wonder if thats the same stuff? Looked like vaseline/ petroleum jelly all over undercarrage.
I've tried and tried, but can't seem to fix stupid!

Maybe it was Naval jelly, don't think I'ld want to put that on my Rusty Gun though

Six service writers in the last year, and that title is being very generous. Mostly I do the writing, they just collect the money. I give this another week before it's time to hit the road. I'm going to write a non fiction Novel about some of the people I've worked with, the title, Drama Queens and Serial Killers.

The KROWN is more like a thin transmission fluid (T32 formula ) and their current formula (T-40 ) looks more like a thin engine oil. Krown is an annual spray and it will collect over time and dirt will collect too but its laden with Krown so moisture doesnt build up.
Everything will come apart with Krown so it very well could be but unless i saw it it's hard to tell.
I just get in there and blow and wipe what i have to in order to do the job...LOL

I do try to clean off underneath customers every spring but not everyone does.

dodge90, that rust prevention from Canada might have been Fluid Film, popular in eastern Canada not so much in the west.

Had a 2003 Envoy in today for a misfire on #6, customer changed all plugs and coil for six and still had a miss and gave up and brought it in. I found new coil in #3 and from right side of engine on valve cover is the firing order, 153624. He assumed that the third one back from front was 6! He initially declined the repair but phoned back saying put another new coil over the right hole, he had enough mechanics 101 for the day!

that might be it over several apps. All I remember i was impressed on how rust free that car was and how it came apart.

The stuff might have been cosmoline, I had a friend who was helping a Dr that was building a homemade airplane using a surplus WW2 engine that had been sealed with cosmoline and when we got it all cleaned off the engine was like brand new even after over fifty years and a dunk in the ocean when a ship sank that was carrying it during the war. Very hard to get off after that length of time, but man did it ever do its job!

                              Engine swap

Wondering if anyone could share some knowledge on a 2010 Equinox 2.4 ltr. ecotec. Chain tensioner exploded, and bent valves. Customer wants boneyard engine installed instead of head job. (Boneyard has a 2011 with 22k on the clock) Salesman claims engines will interchange, cam reluctors seem to be identical. but G.M. tales me that they are different part #'s. Just wondering if anyone could shed a little light on the subject, before I install this thing and find out I just waisted my time?
                              Thanks!

I would trust what a Hollander interchange book says will work before I would trust a GM Johnnie at parts counter telling you 2010 shows an Apple Charlie, and 2011 shows an Apple David at the end.
Going off on another tangent, I Never could figure out why it took so long for many manufacturers of 4 cylinder Front wheel drive cars to finally orient the head to have the intake manifold side facing forward and the exhaust manifold and cat side toward the back.
