There might be a pressure bypass valve at the oil pump itself or between it and the oil filter, or incorporated into the oil filter adapter. The correct oil filter base plate with the holes is probably recessed in deeper to allow sufficient clearance for unrestricted oil flow.
well I checked and Kia actually has a TSB ENG 114 about problems aftermarket oil filters and incorrect viscosity oils can cause.

Thanks Witsend, I found the TSB. When you go for the cheap oil change I guess you get what you pay for. If the oil pressure sending unit is on the engine side of the filter I guess the wrong filter could have been restricting flow.

dR. Jake, have you figured out the fastest way to change tranny on lines on GM Full size truck or SUV yet. If you can get them in a half hour that should be money maker for you. They all leaking from about 05 and up, even did a 10. Someone call GM, tell them the die on their crimper is wore out.

Haven't you guys heard about KROWN rust control-???

Steel lines on my 2001 Venture are still SILVER and when vehicles are sprayed with this stuff even line ends don't twist off on you-!!

                      KROWN with a "K".

Amazing product that, get this-!!, performs as advertised-!!!

Vehicles using this stuff REGULARLY will last an EASY TEN YEARS.
No, I don't own shares and no I can't even buy in because it's set up as a co-op, not a franchise system.

Get a can of their T-32 and TRY and make a piece of metal rust-!!!!

                        Iracing

Iracing is internet racing. You race on-line with other people around the world. You can race road course, circle track, or any combo. You start out at the basic level and can race your way up to the big leagues. Nascar, Indy, V8 Super Cars, etc.

I started a couple months ago with a laptop and my steering wheel, pedal package from my PS3. I can see this possibly getting expensive quick.

I already have plans of making my own version of this, just need dough for the computer, and the 3 monitors so I can have some peripheral view while racing. my 14.1" laptop screen leaves a lot to be desired.
